Relaxation Massage
This very popular Course teaches a wide range of massage techniques to complete a thorough full body massage. Students will learn both the benefits and contraindications for massage. Techniques taught include: effleurage, petrissage, cross-frictional therapy, deep soft tissue therapy and vibration. This is an excellent course to begin with as students quickly learn valuable hand skills, which can be used in many other types of massage.


Basic Medical Sciences
It involves the study of Anatomy and functional Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. Anatomy is the study of the structure and relationships amongst structures of the human body. Functional Anatomy is the study of movement of joints and assessment recognising normal range and limitations. Physiology is the study of the functions of the body's components while Pathology deals with disease - its nature, causes, development and consequences.


Integrated Massage Techniques
This course covers several different modalities and treatments for both soft tissue and musculoskeletal pain. You will learn about:

  • Contraindications for Massage
  • Assessments of presented disorders
  • Myofascial Release
  • Trigger Point Therapy
  • Stretching Techniques
  • Skeletal assessments using Soft Tissue Therapy Techniques
  • Muscle Energy Technique (MET) / Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF)
  • The importance of knowing your limitations and when to refer clients to other Health Professionals.

Clinic Set Up & Management
  • Business Management, Communication and Marketing
  • The requirements to set-up a Massage Clinic
  • When to refer and how to use appropriate medical terminology
  • OH&S and Infection Control

Advanced First Aid
  • Level II First Aid

Student Clinic Practice
Time to put into practice everything you have studied. At the college student clinic you will see a broad cross section of the community and treat each client individually putting together an appropriate treatment plan whilst under the guidance of the clinic supervisor. This will instil in you the confidence to handle most situations when you are ready to start on your own.
